GORDALE SCAR AND MALHAM COVE - Jodie O'Connor | @joc_creative

GORDALE SCAR AND MALHAM COVE - Jodie O'Connor | @joc_creative

Malham is quickly becoming one of my favourite places in the Dales, mainly because of how warming and homely it feels, there’s just something about the area that really makes me feel calm - it also helps that the scenery is beautiful. For this walk, (it is slightly shorter than the rest), you will start in the peaceful Malham village, if arriving by car, there is a pay and display car park sign posted as you drive in, there is also bathroom facilities in this car park. You don’t need all the hiking...

CLAPHAM VILLAGE TO FELL BECK - Jodie O'Connor | @joc_creative

This walk actually turned out different to what we had intended initially! Which is why I will always remember it, sometimes it is more exciting to just set off from a place and see where you end up, however, GPS, phones or a good old trusty map always help in these situations incase you get lost. This walk starts in the beautiful Clapham Village, in the...

This is a beautiful part of The Yorkshire Dales that was completely new to me, when people mention the Dales they tend to think of the three peaks, however there are a vast amount of places to be explored! This walk takes you from Burnsall village through to Trollers Gill.

For this walk I would advise waterproofs, only from personal experience of it raining when Ive done this one! You really don’t want to be caught out so a jacket is always handy, it can get quite slippy and muddy by the gill itself so a good pare of...

WHERNSIDE VIA RIBBLEHEAD VIADUCT - Jodie O'Connor | @joc_creative

Venturing into the Yorkshire Dales is always an exciting trip, especially when it includes the three peaks. Now you could do the three peak challenge, which entails a hike of all three in under 12 hours (sounds difficult I know, but it is possible!) the three being, Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough. This particular route I want to share is aimed at Whernside.

For this walk I would highly advise bringing lots of layers and waterproofs with you, it may be warm down at the bottom but at the top it gets extremely windy and majority of the time you’ll get...

Walks in the Vale of white horse (Oxfordshire)

Walks in the Vale of white horse (Oxfordshire)

The Vale of White Horse is a district of Oxfordshire. The area is crossed by the Ridgeway National Trail in its far south, across the North Wessex Downs AONB at the junction of four counties. The northern boundary is defined by the River Thames. The Vale of White horse consists of a great variety of scenery and numerous historic sites of interest.

Uffington Castle fort and White Horse Hill:

Uffington Castle, which occupies the summit of Whitehorse Hill, is a rare and excellent example of a large Iron Age hillfort. The White Horse is the oldest chalk-cut hill figure in Britain, perhaps...
